MISSILE DEFENSE AGENCY: TEC-MASTERS & ITSC SECURE SOLUTIONS (ITSC) WINS 2018 NUNN-PERRY AWARD
FOR DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE MENTOR/PROTÉGÉ PROGRAM.

FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA (September 5, 2019): The Department of Defense awarded The Missile Defense Agency: ITSC Secure Solutions (protégé) and Tec-Masters, Inc. (mentor) — Oakwood University, University of Alabama Huntsville for a Nunn-Perry Award for excellent performance in the department’s Mentor-Protégé Program. The Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, recognizes outstanding teams in the DoD Mentor-Protégé program. This year, ten teams out of twenty-one were selected for the award.

ITSC Secure Solutions is a privately held, women-owned small business with work in Alabama, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Puerto Rico, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC.  The company has established subject matter expertise in the areas of acquisition, contract management, cybersecurity, and engineering.

“We’re honored to win this award for many reasons,” said ITSC CEO, Ashley Kee. “The program provided training and business acumen to create a scalable infrastructure to grow from 15 to 140 employees (a 933% growth rate); move from an exclusive sub-contractor role to managing five prime contracts,” explains Kee.

“With guidance from our mentor, we’ve been successful in acquiring a company, completing a corporate name change; obtaining ISO certifications; maintaining compliance with ITAR and winning GSA schedules and ID/IQs, including Hawaii NASPO ValuePoint PASS.

We believe in paying it forward and have established two Small Business Administration (SBA) All-Small Mentor-Protégé relationships and created two SBA Joint Ventures with the protégés: i10 and JAMS,” added Kee.

A2 Technical Solutions brings together subject matter expertise in agile development and cyber security, backed with over 10 years of experience in the government contracting arena. The Joint Venture (JV) between ITSC and i10 brings 8(a) and HubZone sole source accessibility.

ACQ Management, LLC brings together ITSC and JAMS to offer subject matter expert (SME) support for program management, acquisition, contract, budget, finance, administrative and professional services. The JV boasts more than 10 years of experience with small business designations that include SBA Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and 8(a) sole source accessibility.

“The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program was instrumental in helping us scale quickly,” states ITSC President, Patricia Kee. “We seek to team with trusted partners to offer quality, value and easy access for the government customer,” shares Kee.
